One Rule for the Rich...

I'm just spending the day thinking about the old saying "there's one rule for the rich and a rule for the rest of us."

Of course, that's probably not accurately quoted but I'm sure that the gist is alright.

Anyway, as our economy comes tumbling down we can expect to see a lot of this saying in action. If banks fail, or if ANY huge company fails, we can expect to see bail out following bail out. Which is understandable, if we don't want our entire economy to fall in, but to my mind it's a strong argument against letting so many folks get so huge at the expense of the rest of us.

If any of us reg'lar folk get into financial trouble, we hear; "you earned it." or "pull yourself up by your own bootstraps! Grow up!" or "You have to pay, but we'll work with you." If a huge enough corporation goes belly up it "Don't worry about it." or "Daddy's gonna make it better."
