If you're a woman on TV you also need a hair stylist with large supplies of blond hair dye.
Guys need the kind of face women consider would make a good sex partner.
Acting school and plastic surgery provide those assets. When journalism schools began offering degrees in 'communications' instead of journalism, there is a rumor that they each set aside a special large class room that supplied the plastic surgeons and hair stylists.
